Sanjai joined ArrowMark Partners in October 2012 and serves as Partner and Portfolio Manager for ArrowMark's debt investments. Prior to joining ArrowMark, he founded MB Consulting Partners in 2009, where he specialized in financial and operational restructuring advisory to stressed and distressed middle-market companies. With more than 10 years of restructuring experience, he has led several assignments across various industries. Before founding MB Consulting Partners, Sanjai was the Senior Portfolio Manager at GSO Capital Partners, a subsidiary of The Blackstone Group (2005-2009). He was also a member of the Investment and Management Committee. At GSO, he managed approximately $11 billion of leveraged loan and high yield assets in various CLOs and other investment vehicles, and co-led the team’s leveraged finance efforts. Prior to joining GSO Capital Partners, Sanjai was an Assistant Portfolio Manager for RBC Capital Partners’ debt investment group and was a member of the Investment Committee (2001-2005). He also led the group’s restructuring efforts related to distressed investments and represented the firm’s interests on creditor committees. From 1999-2001, Sanjai was a Senior Investment Analyst at Indosuez Capital Partners. Prior to joining Indosuez Capital Partners, he spent 5 years in operating/engineering at Ford Motor Company and other industrial manufacturers. Sanjai received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and an MBA from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University.
Michael is a Portfolio Manager at ArrowMark Partners. Prior to joining ArrowMark Partners, Michael was a Managing Director at Brightwood Capital, a private investment firm with over $2 billion in assets under management, including two SBIC funds. Previously, he was a senior investment professional at Stone Tower Capital, a credit-focused investment firm acquired by Apollo Global Management with $26 billion in leveraged assets under management. There he executed and managed investments for the firm’s hedge funds and structured vehicles. He was responsible for sourcing, structuring, documenting, executing and monitoring first- and second-lien loans and mezzanine debt. Prior to holding that position, Michael was a Principal with Equinox Capital, an SBIC focused on making control investments in lower-middle market companies. Michael began his career at Indosuez Capital as a member of the Merchant Banking team, investing and managing a $650 million portfolio of senior loans, mezzanine investments and private equity investments. Michael earned a bachelor of science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, with a triple concentration in Finance, Strategic Management and Information Systems.
Karen is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at ArrowMark Partners. Prior to founding ArrowMark Partners, she served as Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Janus Capital, managing $10 billion for two strategies: Janus Balanced Fund and Janus Core Equity Fund, as well as institutional separate accounts (2000-2005). Karen was also Assistant Portfolio Manager of the Janus Fund (1998-2000). She joined Janus Capital as an equity analyst in 1995. Prior to Janus Capital, she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC in the audit and mergers and acquisitions departments. Karen graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Vipul is a Portfolio Manager at ArrowMark Partners. Prior to joining ArrowMark Partners, Vipul was a Managing Director at Brightwood Capital, a private investment firm with over $2 billion in assets under management, including two SBIC funds. Previously, he co-founded SVT Capital, a technology-focused, middle-market private equity firm. Vipul co-founded SVT after working for Goldman Sachs’ Principal Investment Area, where he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, executing and managing mid-market private equity and debt investments across the technology, media, telecommunications and industrial sectors. An active board participant, he worked with portfolio company management to evaluate acquisition opportunities, operational improvements and recruit senior executives. Prior to his position at Goldman Sachs, Vipul co-founded Pyramid Digital Solutions, an enterprise software company. After successfully driving growth for 11+ years, he negotiated the sale of Pyramid to SunGard Data Systems. Vipul earned a bachelor of science degree in Finance from the University of Alabama and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
